2006 to Present
In my junior year at EWU I accepted my phobia of possibly having to wear a neck tie for work, and dropped out to pursue something I knew I liked…..and wouldn’t require a tie. After eight years working in brass and woodwind repair, learning the art of luthery from my father, and eventually running a busy repair shop, I found the opportunity to start my own repair shop. Cole Music Company was humbly born in August 2006 during the annual Garland Street Fair, and those first customers were wowed with an impressive floor space consisting of two work benches, an empty display case, and a few of my own guitars desperately displayed to resemble inventory. After a year and a half CMC has since filled its walls with Spokane’s best selection of vintage instruments, used professional equipment, and boutique guitars, amplifiers, and effects…..enough cool stuff that we had to move to a bigger store!
While I have been fortunate to have some rare and impressive instruments grace my walls, repair and restoration continues to be the backbone of CMC and further stresses our commitment to serving Spokane’s professional musicians.
